Definition Post - Line

Definition of "Line" - A mark or stroke long in proportion to its breadth, made with a pen, pencil, tool, etc., on a surface.

Adjectives to describe and/or relate to the word "Line" - Straight, Curved, Repeated, Short, Long, Thick, Thin, Singular, Diagonal, Arched, Small, Continuous, Parallel, Solid, Wavy.

These are the four pictures that I have chosen from the internet to represent the variety of lines. I chose the first picture because it features two different styles of line, straight and curved. The next photo shows how straight, but diagonal lines can be used to make a shape, and this shape has been replicated exactly the same throughout the picture. The third photo demonstrates the idea that lines can be created through the shadows of an object/place. Finally, I chose the last picture because it displays the concept of a continuous line, showing that the line is ongoing without any breaks or spaces. This picture also shows a wavy line. All four of these pictures that I have selected represent more than one type of line each.

My own definition of a line - A lengthy mark which is characteristically ongoing, between two points, of a start and an end.
