Definition Post - Colour

Definition of "Colour" - The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.

Adjectives to describe and/or relate to the word "Colour" - Bright, Dark, Shade, Vibrant, Rainbow, Pallet, Light, Spectrum, Bold, Colourless, Deep, Fluorescent, Harsh, Striking, Loud, Matching, Monochrome, Multicoloured, Neutral, Pastel, Mixed, Rich, Vivid, Translucent, Tinted, Paint, Metallic.

These are the four pictures I have selected from the internet to portray colour. The first image appealed to me because the colours were so vibrant and defined that it was obvious that the photo was meant to represent colour. This picture also (almost) uses each primary colour, Yellow, Blue and Red(-ish pink). The next photo is similar to the first, except there is more colour variety shown, and they aren't mixed up like the first, instead they are constructed into an ordered line. These colour cubes have been placed in the structure of a rainbow, this makes the row of colours fade into each other. However, the cubes of colour appear as water and are splashing the coloured liquid above them, which stands out among the black background. Lastly, the colours have been reflected into the floor/mirror, so we are also able to see them in a shadowed form. I decided to use the third picture because it shows how bright and vivid the coloured sweets are against a black and white/monochrome background, which emphasizes their colour. Again, with this image there are many colours shown, which we are able to differentiate easily. Finally, I chose the last photo because there is even more variation between the colours because different shades of each colour are shown (i.e. darker reds, greens, blues etc.). Among the white background the colours are bright.

My own definition of Colour - The differentiation of how we see the light spectrum, that has been reflected or emitted from an object.
